Brief History
This community belongs to the Carmelite Order of the Ancient Observance, The original Mother House is in Spain that sent Mother Trinidad Cuesta, (RIP) to open a monastery in the Diocese of Dumaguete Negros Oriental, the Monastery of Our Lady of Maravillas, on November 16, 1958. It was the latter Monastery which opened this new FILIAL HOUSE in Lila, Bohol on May 1, 2009.
VISION
Moved to build a community of Faith, Hope and Love and inspired by the rich tradition of Carmel, we envision ourselves to become witnesses to the Christian Community of the Diocese of Tagbilaran.
MISSION
We commit ourselves:
• to pray day and night for the restoration of God’s creation;
• to live as witnesses to the Love of Christ to His Church;
• to be humble servants of God and His Church; and
• to be the Living Flame of Faith in the Diocese of Tagbilaran.
